9X Minerals has completed the mineral geological survey of Lijiashan barite mine recently. A total of 691 soil and rock samples were collected in Lijiashan barite mining area for several weeks. The geological survey team used the portable XRF analyzer to test and analyze the soil elements in the mining area, and the rock samples were entrusted to the industry authority for analysis. GPS positioning records the sampling point and the sampling track, so that the geological survey can be followed. The distribution of soil and rock samples and GPS trajectory are shown in Figure 1.

Before describing the major achievements of this geological work, we will first introduce two important concepts.
▶Soil Geochemical Survey, referred to as soil survey, is a kind of geochemical exploration method. Soil survey is to collect soil samples of B layer of surface weathering crust through system (profile and grid), analyze the content and geochemical characteristics of main ore-forming elements, delineate the anomalies of main ore-forming elements, and provide geochemical basis for lower geological work, so as to achieve the purpose of mineral exploration.
▶Prospecting Target is an area where new mineral resources are expected to be discovered through mineral geological survey, based on geological, geophysical, geochemical, remote sensing, exploration, scientific research and other data, and comprehensive analysis of metallogenic geological conditions and prospecting indicators, with a high degree of coincidence with the known ore prospecting prediction model, favorable metallogenic conditions, large resource potential, sufficient prediction basis, and expected to discover new mineral resources.
In order to ensure the quality of on-site sampling, a certain proportion of quality management samples were inserted into the soil and rock samples collected to make the collected samples pass the QAQC quality assessment. The geological survey team used portable XRF analyzer to soil samples.
Soil geochemical characteristics in the Lijiashan barite mining area:
The portable XRF analyzer was used to test the soil samples. Among the 27 elements tested by the analyzer, 6 elements (BA, as, Fe, Rb, Mo and P) showed abnormal characteristics. The Ba anomaly in soil reflects the mineralization and distribution of barite (BaSO4).
The geochemical anomaly characteristics and distribution of Ba and BA in soil of Lijiashan barite mining area are shown in Fig. 2. In the Cambrian strata in the northwest of the mining area, there are weak Ba anomalies in the soil, which indicates that the abundance of barium in Cambrian strata is high and there is potential for prospecting in the Cambrian strata.

Geochemical characteristics of rocks in Lijiashan barite mining area:
Based on the analysis of barite (BaSO4) and fluorite (CaF2) from rock samples and rock samples in the middle part of the tunnel, the characteristics of different strike ore bodies are obtained, and the mineralization types of different elevations in the laneway are also understood. The vertical mineralization zoning characteristics of the Li Jiashan mining area are: Barite mineralization is mainly concentrated in the surface, and barite + fluorite in the central part is mineralized. The fluorite mineralization is the main factor in the deep part. See Figure 3-4.
Distribution characteristics of geological structure, mineralization and geochemical barium anomalies:
The distribution characteristics of geological structure, mineralization and soil geochemical barium anomaly in Lijiashan barite mining area are shown in Fig. 5. However, the barite ore body controlled by NNW compressive fault has stable occurrence and good continuity, which belongs to the prospecting potential area.

Based on the analysis of the full characteristics of barite crystallization degree of the two ore spots on the F3 fault zone, barite mineralization on the NNW trending fault zone was reformed by later hydrothermal solution. Fault breccia can be seen to be filled with barite in the outcrop of the northern F3 ore spot, as shown in Fig. 6.

The barite ore body in the southern part of the mining area is controlled by the F1 compression torsion fault. The occurrence of the ore body is stable, and it is speculated that there is a large extension to the deep. See Figure 7.
According to the analysis of geological structure and geochemical characteristics of Lijiashan barite mining area, we have confirmed the principles of target selection: 1. NNW trending structure; 2. The intersection of NNW and NW trending structures; 3. The intersection of Ordovician and Cambrian contact zone and NNW trending structure; 4. Geochemical anomaly. In the first phase of geological survey, 7 prospecting targets were selected, as shown in Fig. 8.
Barite fluorite metallogenic model in Lijiashan:
The ideal barite fluorite metallogenic model in Lijiashan is shown in Fig. 9. The ideal metallogenic model of the mining area is put forward, which can be used to guide the current mine production, development and the next step of peripheral ore prospecting. The occurrence of NNW trending barite ore body is stable and its extension depth is large. The NNW trending fault at the intersection of deep and NW trending anticline axial tensile fault and the intersection of NNW trending fault with contact zone of Ordovician and Cambrian in depth is conducive to the concentrated precipitation and enrichment of barite fluorite ore solution and the formation of ore body with economic value.
The soil geochemical survey method in Lijiashan barite mining area has achieved expected results. According to the data obtained from geological work, seven prospecting targets are delineated, which lays a solid foundation for the increase of reserves and expansion potential of Lijiashan barite mining area. The investigation team led by geological experts will carry out field investigation and carry out phase II soil geochemical survey to evaluate further prospecting potential.
